2012. WHAT HAPPENED?

I was thinking the other day about how to sum up 2012.

Some people measure the success and happiness of a year by how many great holidays they had, their children's academic or sporting achievements, the amount of awards received, job promotions, moving house, or something similar.

I'm going to use a different measuring stick to sum up our happy and thankful 2012.

We all made time to read books.

All of us stayed up half the night to watch for the meteorite shower.

We all managed to make it into 2013 with no serious health problems.

I only used my clothes dryer twice.

We spend a lot of time together as a family and we still love one another.

Some of my new plants died - I'm thankful for the ones that survived.

Gracie is more aware of social issues and worth while causes.

For first time caravaners, we did OK.

When you run out of bookcases...

Hubby found a lot of books he'd been searching for.

We all watched a solar eclipse.

I started a blog.

Gracie has a better understanding of Algebra.

Shadow, Christmas Day with his edible Christmas card from Santa Paws.

We're grateful Shadow is apart of our family.

We watched whales returning to the Antarctic.

Hairy panic in our front yard 2011.

We didn't have a mouse plague this year, hairy panic and locusts weren't as bad as previous years.

Not much renovating done in 2012, that meant more time to do other things.

I managed to lodge our tax returns just before the deadline.

Our electricity bills were cheaper than the previous year.

Hubby figured out how to turn the washing machine on.

We didn't break anything that mattered or couldn't be fixed.

We watched movies together.

We cooked together.

Worked on projects together.

And had time away from one another to do our own things.

You get the idea, see - it's the little things that count.
